The Liverpool International Transplant Initiative is non-political, not for profit organisation which was founded by Liverpool-based healthcare professionals from a range of disciplines relating to the provision of healthcare for patients suffering from kidney failure. Our members have a diverse range of personal and professional experiences that we bring together with our commitment to excellent provision of healthcare services.

We aim to preserve and protect the health of those around the world in need of organ transplants, but who reside in areas where the statutory authorities permanently or temporarily do not provide adequate transplant services by:

- Providing and assisting in the provision of transplant treatment, facilities, support services and equipment.
- Aiding in the establishment of sustainable, high quality transplant units.
- Establishing and helping to maintain national legal and policy frameworks for the regulation of transplant activity.
- Advancing the education of public and health care professionals via the provision of lectures, fora and publications devoted to transplant related healthcare.
